Interview With Chad Harrigan
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The company was called Be.Creative [ supposed to be pronounced Be Creative], however, they found other company’s with similar names. So we added a dot to make it stand out from the crowd.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I went directly from concept to computer, the shadow under the dot was just an accident. But, since we ended up we bedotcreative as the web address, the dot ended up playing a good part in brand recognition.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
I think it was Garramond.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Cartoon ideas are usually represented as light bulbs, and I wanted to go with a color that represented light. Yellow was the obvious starting place for that.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
It took about an hour to find the right speech bubble, and then everything fell into place from there.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Coming up with anything at all. I usually go strait to computer, but I’m learning to draw my ideas first, so I sat there forever till it kinda hit me.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I might have done a gradient on the speech bubble.
