Interview With Marcus Cooley
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
The inspiration came from the clients love of butterflies. I wanted the design to be youthful, professional and fun!
I was researching some ideas and came across an old picture of a butterfly flying away from a flower. From there it was just a matter of drawing out sketches.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
I used Adobe Illustrator for this particular design.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I always start with paper and pencil (occasionally ink). After the sketches where done, I moved to the computer.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Custom edited Freestyle Script.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
The color scheme was picked from a beautiful blue color i found in a pile of fabric. The green was a personal pick of my own.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
The whole process took about a week and a half to complete the logo.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Biggest challenge for me was making sure the design was not to childish, but kept a youthful theme. The client designs children dresses, but the target audience are mature women. I felt that in the initial stages the design was to childish, but by the end of the process everything came together.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
This logo started great, and ended great. At this point there is nothing I would like to change because the client was absolutely thrilled with the design!
