Interview With Stuart L. Crawford
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
Focusing on elegance and form, I created this typography-based logo that works well as a watermark for the photos as well.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator CS5.
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
Tons of sketches and shapes based around the lettering combination, then tried to construct a form in illustrator.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Minion Bold.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Black and white being the colour scheme was an easy choice. It shows class and keeps the focus on the artwork.
Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?
3-4 weeks for the total project, this final iteration took around 5 hours I think.
Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?
Staying away from the cliches that exist in logos for photographers.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
I can’t see much to it that I’d change at all really.
