Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?

I wanted a typographic icon combining the first letters of my full name.

Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.

I created this with pen & ink, and then imported it into Illustrator.

Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?

I created several sketch variations with pencil. The font was manipulated during the sketch process creating a unique 3d typeface.

Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?

The Font is based on Futura & Optima condensed and then customized.

Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?

This logo can be used as any color, emphasizing “color as meaning”, depending on the piece the logo is incorporated with. This logo is primarily a play on negative space.

Q:Do you have any sketches of the logo in the early stages?

Q:How long did it take to complete the logo?

It took me 9 weeks.

Q:What do you feel was your biggest challenge in designing the logo?

Getting the appropriate width of the negative space.
