Interview With Harvey Shepard
Q:Where did the idea for this logo come from?
I explored a variety of symbols for time and scripts, and these two symbols seemed to fit together perfectly.
Q:What application did you use to design this logo? E.g., Illustrator.
Adobe Illustrator
Q:What was your design process for this logo? I.e., Did you start out with pen and paper then move to the computer?
I always start with pen and paper, fleshing out as many ideas as I can. Then I narrow it down, figuring out which concepts are worth bringing onto the computer for further exploration. For this project, I brought about half a dozen ideas to the computer. As I polished them up, this concept established itself as the clear winner.
Q:What font(s) were used in the logo?
Ubuntu.
Q:How did you choose the color scheme for the logo?
Being a website for coding, my initial thought was a navy blue and grey palette. To add some energy and excitement to this logo, I warmed up those colors quite a bit.
Q:Now that the logo is finished, is there anything you would change about it?
It’s new, so I’m not sick of it yet.
