New England Patriots Unveil 50th Season Logo
By Deron Sizemore in Logo Design | 2
The New England Patriots unveiled a new logo today to represent their 50th season.
About the Logo
The red, white and blue logo contains the text “New England Patriots” and “50 seasons.” It features both the original “Pat Patriot” logo as well as the current “stylized minuteman” trademark that was introduced in 1993. The words “50 seasons” and the “Pat Patriot” logo are centered and rest atop the Patriots’ current logo. Six stars in the design represent the six New England states.
Thoughts
I understand why everything was used in the logo, but I feel it’s a little to busy. If the logo is used at a smaller size than the one in this article, you’ll likely not be able to make heads or tails of anything in the logo. The original “Pat Patriot” in the center is almost too small to make out in the image above.
What are your thoughts on the logo? What are it’s strengths? Weaknesses?

I agree. I think the logo would be pretty good looking without the Patriot in the middle, but as you said, it’s like someone just absolutely couldn’t live without it, so they stuck it right in the middle.

Somebody in the Patriots management was desperate to see Pat Patriot in this logo. Looks like that it was added at the last moment.
